The proposed solar farm in Caroline will generate 16.1MW of energy and take up a fenced areas of approximately 70 acres on the North East SEC-14 TWP-036 RGE-06 MER-5. The Longtitude and Latitude Coordinates are 52° 5'56.76"N, 114°44'46.15"W.
The project will connect to the electrical grid via Fortis Sundre 575S and consist of 37,856 Longi LR5-72HBD-525-545M 540, 545, 550 Wp, bifacial solar panels on single axis trackers and 5, SMA MVPS 4600 kW inverters.
The site will generate enough energy to power approximately 3,859 typical Albertan households, save 20,204 tonnes of carbon annually, and 525,932 tonnes over the 25-year initial lifetime of the Project.
PACE believes the proposed development is in keeping with the character of the area and makes a vital contribution to addressing the climate emergency. It will also help to mitigate soaring energy costs, increase local biodiversity while supporting Alberta’s rural economies.
